Everyone deserves an equal opportunity to study at Edinburgh. We want to open our doors, remove barriers, and ensure that everyone is welcome and valued here. Studying with us has the power to transform the lives of our students and their communities.
What is Widening Participation?
We have a long-standing commitment to widening participation (WP) in higher education stemming from our passion for social justice and delivering impact for society. We want to open our doors, remove barriers, and ensure that everyone is welcome and valued here. Studying with us has the power to transform the lives of our students and their communities.
We believe it is never enough to simply focus on under-representation or the number of students entering into the University. We also want them to reach their full academic potential while here, and to have the chance to participate fully in every aspect of their university, graduate and professional life.
